I had the funniest conversation with my parents yesterday. They called me and we ended up talking about The Two Towers. They pretty much just watched the pretty pictures on screen without really understanding what was going on. So I opened my big moutht and told them I'd seen it four times already. Now, my Korean's been improving over the past two years, but I was stumped on how I was going to talk about "elves", "dwarves", "hobbits", and "world domination". *grins* So my explanation had lots of descriptions of characters like, "the little ones that look like kids and have hairy feet" for hobbits, "the really pretty ones that have the weird ears" for elves, "the old guy with the curly white hair and goes around with the little ones" for Gandalf, and "the other old guy with long white hair that controls those ugly people" for Saruman. Sauron was "the big flaming eye".

*lol* I now need to find a dvd set that has Korean subtitles so that I can get it for my parents. ^__^v

tell George, next time I see him, I will make him my own. personal. hand. puppet. -- Seinfeld

Great line I heard on Seinfeld today. *grins* I must now find a way to use this in a fic. XD

I have discovered something even better than instant miso soup and instant sticky rice. Instant dduk guk. And it's pretty good. *blisses out*

^________^

Went to an anti-war march today. Crapload of people. Now, I'm exhausted, though. @.@; I practically had to walk the march distance twice, 'cause I dropped off my folks, drove to the end of the route, and then jammed back to where the beginning of the march was. *whimpers* My legs'n feet'n back hurt. But, it was good. ^__^v

Been kinda busy this week, which is why I haven't been able to be online much. ;_; Won't change until Monday night. I'm just sneaking on for about an hour right now 'fore I get sucked back into the black hole that is my work. ^^;;

Went on a wheat-pasting run a couple nights ago. *evilgrins* Hit up some prime locations sure to infuriate people. >D For the longest time, I thought it was weed-pasting, for "these posters are springing up like weeds" or something like that. When I realized it was wheat-pasting, my friends kept poking fun at me. How was I supposed to know? *grumbles*

I have so much laundry that I need to do and keep putting off.... <.<;;

Okay, later dudes! ^_^v

Number of times to have seen the shine off of Eomer's brilliantly white teef: 5 XD~~~

happy new year!!!
Friday, January 3, 2003, 12:15 a.m.

Okay, so it's a little late, but I just got back my internet access. *grins'n throws conffetti* Happy New Year! ^_____^

Now, for the record:
- Number of times I've watched The Two Towers: 3
- Number of times I've been blinded by Eomer's brilliantly white teeth: 3

XD

Some other random comments.

Every one that I know that has seen this movie has made the comment that the race of Man is damn dirty/scruffy/sweaty/smelly/whathaveyou, and that Legolas always seems to look completely clean. Just watched my third viewing of Two Towers, and afterwards, spent almost fifteen minutes discussing that point. Aragorn spent the majority of his time either dirty and bloody or dirty and wet - which you'd think would be hard since he's spending so much time in water. :P Legolas, on the other hand, was kicking ass left and right while in the exact same elements as Aragorn, and not only never had any mud on his face, but he also never had any mud or dirt on his clothes. Even Haldir, while dying on a battlefield, still managed to look pretty. ^0^

Eomer - the one of the blindingly white teeth - has really pretty eyes. The look he has when he's sitting next to a mortally wounded Theodred... *__* Those two were so doing it. It is so completely shallow of me, but I wanna see an Eomer'n Legolas ficcy just becuse those two are so hot. I am such a frickin' fangirl. XD

I had some massive insomnia last night. I went to bed around 1 a.m. and an hour later, I was still awake. So I wandered around the apartment for a while, looking for something to read, hoping that it'd knock me out in a few minutes. Ended up reading a couple of comic books that I got as a present for a friend.

*grins* Ended up reading those comic books until almost 8 in the morning. There were only two volumes, but they were in Korean and it's slow going for me, then. :P

I'm gonna have to buy these comics for myself, now. They're good. XD As soon as I can get to a scanner with some privacy, I wanna scan in this one story in the books 'cause it's just sooooo sweet. But, considering how long it takes me to do anything, I wouldn't hold my breath for'm. ^^;;

Now, to do some massive amounts of laundry so's I can have some clothes to take with me to Vegas tomorrow. XD

it's a fine day, people open windows, they leave their houses just for a short while~~

Upon second viewing of The Two Towers, what struck me most was that Eomer had damn white teeth. *nods* ^________^ Even if the race of Man is rather of the scruffy-type persuasion, it just emphahsized the whiteness of Eomer's teeth.

And Leggy-chama's still a right hot sexy elf bitch. *nodnods* H______H

Yes, cys is a shallow, shallow woman and gets hung up on the weirdest things. ^_^v

*huggles sami* you, my dear, have the nuttiest ideas ever. not that it's a bad thing. *grins* by the way, thanks for the chibi-supra! soooo cute~~~! ^_________^

and just to make it official, Legolas is one right sexy elf bitch. *nods* must see that movie again. must.

oooh~~~

I have discovered something better than sliced bread. Instant sticky rice. Oh yeah~~~~ Add to that instant miso soup, and I am in heave. ^_____^

Instant miso soup - 2 min
Instant rice - 2 min
Prepared side-dishes - 10 sec
Total prep time: 5 min

Oh. Yeah.

ahhh...turkey stupor.... ^___^
Tuesday, December 10, 2002, 11:33 p.m.

Finally managed to have myself a turkey dinner. *grins* Didn't get to have any during Thanksgiving or after until tonight. Ah, yes...there's nothing quite like turkey stupor. ^____^

Read a fic last night. Was a rollickin¡¯ fun time from beginning to end, which was a treat. I was just looking for something to read that was decent and didn¡¯t have so much angst that it made me want to start pounding my head against the wall to make the pain stop. So imagine my delight when I stumbled across "Chicago's Most Wanted" by Speranza. ^__^

It¡¯s Due South with Fraser and New Ray. I like New Ray. *drools* Anyways, lately, I¡¯ve gotten into the habit of skimming through the majority of the fics I read until I get to the parts where each word is written with thought given about its flow and meaning, where I slow down and then read each word. The less I skim, the better the fic, the more I like it. I read every single word of "Chicago's Most Wanted". Every single one. Even the ones in Itatlian.

There are lots of reasons why I liked this fic so much. The biggest being that my own internal editor didn¡¯t pipe up once. Not only because the author had a strong command of spelling and grammar, but because the story itself was just so friggin¡¯ *fun* to read.

Not only was the plot itself highly original and engaging, but the characterizations were spot on as well. Fraser was so perfectly Fraser and Ray was so perfectly Ray, and both were written so very naturally. You could understand, and more importantly, believe the motivations behind why they did every single thing that they did in the way that they did.

The flow was good. The pacing was good. The dialogue was good. The sex, when it *finally* happened, was good. And it was funny. I was cackling out loud during a good majority of it, which wasn¡¯t exactly a good thing at 2 am in the morning when your roomies are all sleeping. ^^; As a community organizer for a non-profit myself, the bits with the CMW group and the picketing had my ass rolling and my tummy in stitches from holding in the laughter so I wouldn¡¯t wake the roomies. ^____^v

Now I'm off to read s'more. I'm sure she's gotta have other fun fics to read. Whee!

just another manic monday...
Monday, December 9, 2002, 11:38 p.m.

My God, it's only Monday. *collapses*

It's been quite a while since I've blogged... ^^;

Lessee, to sum up.

Went home for Thanksgiving. Didn't manage to have any turkey or any of the dressings. At all. Still haven't managed it, in fact. *pouts*

Did get to see the new house my parents wanna get, though. Very nice. ^__^

Had to work for the parents. But, got paid for it so when I got back to LA, I splurged and bought two new jeans, a pair of black pants, and two pairs of shoes from Skechers. I'd forgotten how much fun shopping could be. XD

Work was...work. :P

Worked late today. Bleah.

Played some FFX but I keep dying from "Ambushed!" encounters. =_= Dammit.

What sucks is that The Two Towers opens on Dec. 18, but I'm prolly gonna be working a little late that night. So I don't know if I'm gonna be able to watch it that night with the rest of my friends. >.<

Bleah. Xp

inner vision~~
Tuesday, November 26, 2002, 11:47 p.m.

Just watched Reign of Fire.

It wasn't too bad. I liked it. It had a very Mad Max sortat feel to it. *grins* It played like a David Weber book. And since I'm a fan of David Weber, that worked for me.

I liked how the dragons looked kind of out of place, 'cause they are. They are so far removed from what we would consider the norm that it worked.

Steve made the observation that the movie was filled with a lot of guys running around without their shirts off. Which brings me to the slash potential of the movie. And damn if it wasn't filled with it. I actually wasn't looking for it, really. Mostly because I wasn't really sure what to expect. But there wasn't a whole lot of female presence in the movie, except for Alex. And she, in my opinion, was overshadowed by Vanzan and Credey.

Speaking of which, goddamn Matthew McConnaughey got frickin' ripped for this movie. Though the entire scruffy thing didn't quite do it for me, having the tattoo kink that I do, I absolutely adored the tatts that framed that boy's muscles. He needed to go shirtless more often. mmrrow... H____H

Now, why can't I log on to my site? o.O; *pokes ftp* I don't think I've changed my password....

o.o;;; I've forgotten what my password is....

so good yet so bad for you....

Mayo with french fries.... mmmm....

Too bad mayo's so frickin' nasty for ya. XD

Now, I must find ficcies for Goddess Candidate. Garu~~~~ *___*

straight outta compton
Saturday, November 23, 2002, 02:11 a.m.

I had a thoroughly relaxing evening. ^____^

Got to eat sushi with friends. Then I went over to m'friend's houses'n hung out. Was able to smoke. Played lots of pool. I play much better when I'm intoxicated with something. :P

And, I got to hear NWA's Straight outta Compton for the first time in my life. When it came out, I was at the height of my modern rock/goth stage. My favorite bands were Depeche Mode and Erasure. Loved listening to The Smiths, The Cure, Morrissey, Pet Shop Boys, and OMD. I wore the plaid pants (I had three: black and white; yellow and brown; and green and blue), the flowy black skirts, the headbands, the hats, the big black dresses, the boots, the heavy goth jewelry, the black nail polish, and the home-done red dye in m'hair. I was both a band geek and a drama geek. My foreign language was French. I went to the Renaissance Faire and Rocky. *grins*

Then, our conversation turned to when Dr. Dre came out with Chronic, and I was able to say it was before 1993, 'cause the chronic shirts were selling like mad at my parents' clothing store in Oakland. That took us through a stroll down memory lane of what fashion used to be like in Oakland back in the day. With the chronic being on shirts, jeans, caps, beanies, jackets...basically any article of clothing. The colored jeans. The entire Bart Simpson 'Cowabanga, dude!' phenomenon. Homie's Kids.

We also had heat transfer letters. I remember this one guy came in and had me make the Westside sign with a hand. After that, all his friends came by to have the same thing done. We put on a helluva lot of "Westside Oakland"s and "WSO"s on t-shirts and caps.

That was quite the flashback. ^___^
